The Role of a Translator in Peace, War and Humanitarian Crisis
The Lublin Association of Translators (LST) and the European Commission Representation in Poland / Field Office of the Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) would like to invite you to the Translating Europe Workshop event to be held on 18 November 2022 in an online format under the theme “The Role of a Translator in Peace, War and Humanitarian Crisis”.
The aim of the project is to pioneer a cross-cutting study of the role of the translator in changing geopolitical and social conditions, taking into account the experiences gained by translators participating in humanitarian operations for refugees from Ukraine. The subject of TEW will be realised in the form of conference lectures, a survey study with a final report, the production of a film for an information campaign and a publication summarising the event. The addressees of the project are translators of various languages, academic staff, students of linguistics and translation studies and representatives of international organisations upholding the law, economy, social welfare and business.
All lectures will be translated into Polish, English and Ukrainian.
You are very welcome to attend!
